    Alone out on the ice after his companion Jason de Carteret had been forced to abandon the trek, Todd Carmichael has decided that he would not be able to reach the South Pole within the time set. He has decided to give up the attempt as well.

    It has been a tough start for the Todd Carmichael and Jason de Carteret expedition. Jason has been evacuated because he was suffering from serious foot problems as they scaled the polar plateau.

    The Sub-Zero expedition was also aboard ALE's second Ilyushin flight from Punta to Patriot Hills, which dropped the adventurers off in Antarctica on 29th November.
