This section centralises the names, nationalities and short bios of the polar explorers that have appeared on this website since it was launched in November 1997. Please bear in mind that this section is a work in progress

Heo Young ho (Korea)
Heo Young-Ho was born April 16th, 1954. He is a very famous climber, who has attempted and climbed many mountains. Heo Young-Ho has completed the Adventure Grand Slam consists of the South Pole, the North Pole and the Seven Summits.

Hillary Peter (New Zealand)
Peter Hillary was born in Auckland in 1954. He is the son of Sir Edmund and Lady Louise Hillary, is married and has four children. He is an adventure travel operator and guide specialising in the Himalayas and Antarctica.

Hilton-Barber Miles (United Kingdom)
Although blind for the past 20 years Miles Hilton-Barber has made a name for himself as an adventurer who raises thousands of pounds for charities. He has most recently completed an Around the World in 80 Ways project circumnavigating the entire world. Miles is a Motivational Development Manager for the Royal National Institute for the Blind.

Höbenreich Christoph (Austria)
Since 1993, Austrian Christoph Höbenreich is involved in polar adventure and guiding. In 2005, he has led the famous expedition "Payer Weyprecht Memorial Expedition" to Franz Josef Land.

Horn Mike (South Africa)
Mike Horn was born in Johannesburg in South Africa on the 16th of July 1966. After studying Human Movement Science at the University of Stellenbosch, he left South Africa in 1990 to travel to Europe, where he started work as a ski instructor, river and canyoning guide.

Hubert Alain (Belgium)
Founder of the IPF, Alain Hubert, is an engineer by training and has become an explorer and adventurer. His expeditions in the 1980's and 1990's have taken him to the Himalayas, the Andes, Antarctica and the Arctic and other remote locations.

Hunter Craig (Great Britain)
Craig Hunter was one of the members of the Polar Quest Expedition launched by the Roayl Navy. They went from Hercules Inlet to South Pole and back. They have landed on November 13th 2006 in Patriot Hills ; on January 21st 2007, they were back at Patriot Hills.

Jinman Antony (Great Britain)
Antony Jinman has spent the past couple of years building experience on the Baffin Island and working closely with the Inuit communities there. In the spring of 2010, he successfully completed the Ward Hunt-North Pole trek.

Kagge Erling (Norway)
Norway's most acclaimed living polar explorer and one of the greatest adventurers of our time, Erling Kagge was the first person to surmount the "three poles" North Pole, South Pole and Mount Everest.

Kaminski Marek (Poland)
Polish national Marek Kamiński is known mainly for having reached both the North and South Poles in the same year. In 1996, he created a foundation to help young disabled people and enable them to visit the polar regions.
