  • Change of plan

    Published on 27.04.2009 - Greenland 2009 (West-East)

As soon as the two Channel Islanders arrived in Greenland, they changed their plans. They won't be doing a coast-to-coast crossing any longer, but just a short crossing of the icecap. The snow was just too bad. (And undoubtedly the challenge was too great for them!)

  • They’ve reached the Pole

Published on 27.04.2009 - Peary Centennial North Pole Expedition

The three members of the 'Peary-Henson Centennial Expedition 2009' arrived safe and sound at the North Pole on 25th April.

Published on 27.04.2009 - General Info

Sebastian Copeland and Keith Heger didn't quite make it to the North Pole in time. They were two days and under a hundred kilometres short of their goal. But time waits for no man -and certainly not Boyarsky's logistics team: the final MI 8 flight had to be made by 26th April and no later.

  • Race against the clock

Published on 21.04.2009 - General Info

While the Fuchs expedition has just been officially launched and the teachers will be arriving in Greenland in a couple of weeks' time, Copeland and Heger have begun a furious race against the clock to the North Pole.

  • Goodbye and see you next year…

Published on 21.04.2009 - Christina Franco North Pole Solo

Christina Franco is back home already. Despite that, she still managed to cover a few dozen miles over the Arctic pack-ice and is raring to go again in 2010.

  • 120 km in 12 days…

Published on 21.04.2009 - General Info

The French duo is experiencing extremely cold temperatures for the season and the two men have taken the option to stay in their tents until it gets a little warmer...

  • Yet another retirement

Published on 21.04.2009 - General Info

While the team of Finns is still making steady progress over the Greenland icecap, one of the expedition members believed he was not physically fit enough to continue the journey.
