A tough end to their expedition

Published on 15.07.2008 - The TisoTransGreenland Expedition

Alex Hibbert and George Bullard are not far from the coast now, but they have to ration their supplies and contend with heavy snow as they go.

In fact the two men have to cope with a particularly difficult and tough last leg of their expedition. Not only have they been forced to reduce their rations and are now only eating a quarter of their daily food quota - which in turn reduces the number of calories they have to generate energy -, but they are also facing horrendous weather conditions. Heavy snow has been falling for the past few days and their descent towards the coast is being hampered by over a foot (30 cm) of snow. This, of course, slows down their progress and places greater strain on their already tired muscles.

Both men hope to reach the coast towards the end of the week.
