Funny start for Helen, the BBC presenter

The first day of the trip, young Helen Skelton realizes that biking in the snow would be a difficult exercice. Who could have guessed such a statement ?
BBC presenter Helne Skleton has started her voyage on 4 January, accompanied by a guy -Niklas- who is supposed to help her when needed.
The first day, she tried the bike on the ice but had to give it up after 15 Nm ride. "Unfortunately", she said, "they don't go as fast as I'd like and it's very tiring pedalling in the snow. ..." What a discovery !
The next day (5 January), she shows on a close up photo the beautiful blisters she has on one of her feet. "I know we're behind", she said, "but today we're going to kite and Nikas reckons with the wind and the terrain we're on, we could kite 40-50 miles in one day, meaning we'd be back on schedule. Hopefully this will mean we won’t have to do too much cross-country skiing as my feet have taken a real battering so far, just look at the size of this blister (apologies if you’re eating)!"
