Good luck for Optical Express

Published on 02.12.2007 - Optical Express South Pole Challenge

After arriving at Patriot Hills aboard the second flight, the Optical Express team made up of Cameron Hudson and John Huston set out on its adventure. In fact, so far, the duo has enjoyed four days of fine weather. They couldn't have hoped for a better start...

Dropped off at Hercules Inlet on 28th November, Hudson and Huston wasted no time and headed southwards immediately. The weather has been more than favourable, with excellent conditions, enabling them to cover 4 nautical miles in four hours of walking on the first day of their trek.

Now, with the first days of their journey behind them, the fine weather continues to help them progress at top speed. And they have already begun focusing on the research projects that they have agreed to carry out into the effect that living with permanent daylight may or may not have on the human body's biological clock (find out more about the subject of their research).
