Greenland In Starring Role

Published on 05.05.2008 - General Info

Because of the progressive melting of the Arctic pack ice (which has unfortunately become a sad reality), we will undoubtedly in the future be seeing an increasing number of adventurers and polar expeditions in Greenland.

Is this already a foretaste of what we will be experiencing in terms of Arctic polar expeditions in the coming years? That's of course impossible to say. But we do however believe that this Arctic 2008 spring season will be something of a turning-point in the history of modern polar exploration and adventure.

The whys and wherefores are simple. The great adventurers, as well as the young ones who are taking their place, will start to think twice before committing to a great polar trek on the Arctic ice-barrier – or even to a crossing of it. This is because the conditions of progression are becoming increasingly random and dangerous, the look of the ice is changing, and the pack is melting even during the winter months
