As Climate Neutral Pole to Pole team is getting closer to Canadian coasts, they have to pay attention to the polar bears.
Despite more and more difficulties encountered on its way to Canadian coasts, the 'Climate Neutral Pole to Pole' team keeps high spirit and good mood. On 10 May they wrote : "... Today the ice was moving all over the place and last night we drifted backwards in the wrong direction said our Base Camp. The more south we get the more the ice melts and it is only about -10 degrees. That makes it difficult when skiing. We had a nice day though and the mood is good in the team! ..."
And three days later, Nilson writes that just before setting up camp after 24 km and 10 hours of skiing, they found fresh tracks of two polar bears. "... Its with mixed emotions that we are going to bed tonight", explains Nilson. "They are fantastic animals but dangerous. We must also pay a great respect to them since they are a head of this place…we are only visitors. We will sleep with the gun close to the sleeping bag tonight! ..."
