Heading north

Thierry Puyfoulhoux, Cornelius Strohm and Michael Charavin are making great use of their traction kites. On 14th May, they managed to cover 162 kilometres in a single day.
Even though we are able to track their adventure on the homepage of the "Prevol" website, we prefer to log on to Google Earth to observe the trio's progression. In fact, almost every day, they send their position back to their headquarters which, in turn, work - as we sometimes do - on updating the Google Earth map. The result is clear and readable and, when you use the zoom feature, you can almost see the men advancing 'live' across the screen before your very eyes...
The three men set out on 1st May. They have been sending back just a few concise lines giving information on the daily events. These reports tell us that they often travel at night to take advantage of the wind, resting when it dies down. But when they are lucky enough to have the wind in their sails, they head northwards as fast as they can. As we mentioned earlier, they covered 162 kilometres in 11 hours of wind-kiting on 14th May.
One down note, though. It's a pity they haven't published any information about the total distance they have covered since they set out, nor are we able to receive details regarding their position on a day-to-day basis.
