Into the home straight

Published on 28.04.2009 - General Info

No major news to report from this short crossing, except for the dreadful weather the group has had to contend with.

On 26th April, the teams reported that it only had about 80 km left to cover. Given their recent rate of progress of about 25 km a day, the group should reach its destination this coming Thursday or Friday.

Apart from two people pulling out (see our previous dispatches), everything has gone well on this trip, which has virtually become a tourist walk in the park across Greenland from west to east.
Having said that, they have had to put up with some terrible weather conditions, forcing them to hunker down in their tents for a number of days.

At the present time, they are just 60 km -as the Arctic Redpoll files– from Isortoq.
