Mini Training Expedition

Published on 11.03.2011 - General Info

Instead of leaving the Arctic right away after the abort decision, Pat Falvey and Clare O'Leary have decided to use the time in the Canadian Arctic the best way they can and to go for an exercise on the ice and make a mini training expedition.

The Irish adventurers didn't need much time to react after having taken this difficult (but wise) decision to postpone the NP trek (see our article on the subject).

Of course they were hardly disappointed and disheartened, but why should they stay up there broken minded ? The Arctic is immense enough to change plans and to try to do something else.

That's how Pat and Clare decided to go for a mini expedition in order to learn new things about the ice, to gain experience of the Arctic and to test their gear.

They probably will be heading a few hundred kilometers to the magnetic North Pole.
