“Oh ! I got a cluster on chilblains on each cheek !...”

Since Felicity Aston left, she seems to be more worried about the chilblains she discovered two days ago on her cheeks than about the pace of her march...
Even in the Antarctic and under these terrific conditions, a woman can keep being a coquette lady.
On 18 December, she writes : "... My face is covered in protective plasters this morning - I look rediculous". A bit later : " ... Ice coating my fur hood and icicles hanging off my mask and goggles made me look like a real polar explorer today. ... Arrg! Just discovered a cluster of chilblains on each cheek. Must have been the light headwind today. How annoying... "
Of course she will never send pictures of her in that state ! Fortunately she continues sending us through Twitter some basic information. Like her progress on the ice : she seems to be able to maintain a pace of about 15 Nm per day. Besides, everything seems to be OK, for that coquette lady.
Here are her 16 December Twitters :
- Hard work but I crossed into 89th degree today. Felt like it was uphill all the way but perhaps it is in my mind!
- Trying to work out why both my stoves now belch fumes. None of the usual causes. Never had so many kit issues!
- My cough is back with gusto. Several coughing fits stopped me dead and gasping for air. Still did 15nm - best yet!
- So tired that, yet again, I was shuffling around on my hands and knees putting up the tent - not very heroic!
